Brand Identity
Borculo Zoo is not the normal live zoo we know. This zoo has cats as their target audience and this time the humans are within the cages of the zoo.
The zoo will be filled with lots of different cultures and types of humans.
The brand identity is completely focused on cats. Think of how they look and what their interests are. As for the typography I chose Montserrat Uppercase as it has this very nice round O. As many of us know cats are slightly attracted to circles. The colors I use are blue and yellow as cats can see those 2 colors the best. For this, I also focussed on the contrasts of the colors as it is really important for how cats see the world.
I did also do some research on human needs and read a lot about Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs Theory.

Below you see some design process for the zoo.
Brand animation
After thinking out the brand identity I went further with a brand identity animation.
The animation is based on the slogan I made for the zoo: Think outside your box
Which refers to cats always sitting in boxes and the zoo will be the reason to leave their box.
I really tried to focus on little sound effects within the animation and that all animations had a smooth transition.
If you watch you will see that the animation is made with the colors from Borculo Zoo.
It took some time to decide which music I put in my animation as for most videos there is this cliche "happy commercial" music and I didn't want this. The music is still happy, but not the casual music we know. The music is "Janko Nilovic - Sacha Pacha"
The video is near finished as I still want a voice-over which is telling the story. But I found this rather hard to do I will figure this out in the future.
